Fly in the Flower

Posted by
Cruz (exurbia, United States) on 10 July 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

I’d rather take pictures of bees than flies, but I’ll take what I can get.

Canon PowerShot G9 1/200 second F/4.0 ISO 80 8 mm

I blog at cruztalking.blogspot.com--just everyday pictures and prose about what's going on in my corner of the world. Since I travel a lot, that corner changes with the wind.

Bettina from Los Angeles, United States

Wow! Big fly. :) It looks huge on the yellow flower.

@Bettina: the flower was just a bit bigger than the fly!

Ha ha - a bee would be more colourful, but great detail on the fly. Well done.

I can see why this might be called a horse fly - or maybe just a horse! Huge. Nice shot.

I know what you mean. For some reason flies are just creepy!

12 Jul 2010 3:16am

@Julie Brown: They are creepy...but they are interesting to look at (as long as they are not in my home)
